Special Olympics Polar Plunge
Take your Plunge into icy waters in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run in their quest to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Yukon. Every dollar you raise goes towards supporting Special Olympics athletes across the territory.
The Polar Plunge challenges people to bravely jump into an icy bin filled with water from the mighty Yukon river. All the fun takes place in the parking lot of the Elks Lodge. It’s a great way for everyone—individuals, organizations and businesses—to get involved in support of Special Olympics and show winter who’s boss! The minimum age to plunge is 19 years old.

Bill Gairdner Masters National Championships
The Whitehorse Nordic Centre will be hosting the Canadian Masters XC Ski Championships. 2 shorts distance races are scheduled for Feb 19th and 20th late afternoon. Friday Feb 21st will be a rest day and then 2 long distance races will take place over Saturday 22nd and 23rd. A meal option will be offer for the week days races as well as a banquet on Sunday night. More info to come.

Annual Fall Boulding Competition
Join Climb Yukon for their annual Fall Comp at the PCSS Bouldering Gym. There will be climbing, music, draw prizes, scramble format with problems for all climbing levels, and the usual level of stoke (spoiler alert: it's high!)
Registration is OPEN until Nov. 7 at 10pm. $25 registration fee per climber. Event day membership (10$) and signed waiver also required.

2024 Recreation Gathering
The Recreation Gathering is an annual event that connects leaders from across the Yukon. Every year, RPAY strives to offer unique professional development and networking opportunities, cooperative learning, and fun! RPAY welcomes recreation practitioners, youth leaders, volunteer board members, local recreation authorities, and others who work across the territory in recreation.
This year's Recreation Gathering will take place in and around Whitehorse, on the traditional territories of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation, the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council, and the Carcross/Tagish First Nation. Sessions will be held at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve and the Lorne Mountain Community Association. For additional information, please refer to the registration form. A detailed event schedule will be available in late August.

Annual Salmon Fry Release
Come join the Yukon Fish & Game Association at their Annual Salmon Fry Release at Wolf Creek Campground on Sunday, May 26th!
They will be hosting a Free BBQ from 11:30am to 12:30pm and would love for you to join they while they wait for the fish to arrive at 1pm!

Bird & Bat Building Day
Join the Yukon Fish & Game Association for their Bird & Bat Building Day - Saturday, May 4th from noon to 3pm at the Canada Games Centre.

Broadway Ever After
The Arctic Edge Skating Club is preparing for its 2024 Ice Show – “Broadway Ever After”
Skaters and coaches have been choreographing and practicing their routines since late March for this bi-annual event. The best time to come watch the skaters is either during the matinee show at 1:30pm or the evening show at 6:00pm at the CGC on April 27th. Around 60 skaters of all ages and stages will take part in the show, including those at the Special O, Rising Star, and StarSkate levels.
Admission is by donation of a non-perishable food item for the Whitehorse Food Bank.
