Gritty C.O.G.

Gritty C.O.G.

On June 8th, Velo North brings us their annual gravel-based gallop through Copper Haul, Mt. Mac, and Fish Lake. This event pits the cohort of doddering, moth-eaten has-been over 40s against the callow and puerile (but innocent) under 40s. It's going to be gritty. But above all, it's going to be fun. There are solo and team registration categories so there's a distance suited to you and all of your friends.

The Details:

  • June 8

  • Winterlong Brewing Co (83 Mt. Sima Rd.)

  • 12 - 12:45 Rider check-in

  • 1 pm race start

  • Choose between 40 or 64 kms of gravel and dirt

  • 1000 m of elevation

  • Over 40s vs Under 40s pitted against each other in a bicycle-based battle for chronological supremacy!

  • All participants who identify as female receive their first pint free at Winterlong

  • Solo, 2-person and 3-person categories are available! Don't want to ride a full 64km? No problemo! Maximize the chill and ride the Gritty COG as a relay with a friend (or 2!).

  • Make no mistake; this is a challenging course. The first riders should complete the course in about 2.5 hrs. Conditions through the ski trails and singletrack at Mt. Mac will be variable (wet). Be prepared with enough food, water and tools to be self-sufficient for up to 5 hours. Ride with a cell phone. There will be one aid station on course.

For more information and to register visit Gritty’s 2024 Registration Page.
