Kendra Murray
Sport: Cross Country Skiing
Year Received: 2013
Bio: Kendra has loved skiing ever since she can remember. Around the age of 18 months, Kendra went outside, brought in her older brothers skis, laid them carefully on the floor and showed her family that she knew how to ski and wanted to SKI the next day, not ride in the pulk as they has planned. She has been skiing ever since.
The highlight of Kendra’s career so far was racing at the Canada Winter Games in Prince George, Winning her individual bronze medal in the classic race, followed with the bronze in the relay was an amazing experience. Kendra also won Silver at the NORAMs in Nakkertok – her first ever podium in Open Women’s category. She has continued her steady progression over the last few years by finishing as a top University skier in many of the University races held in Canada.
Kendra had her best ever season while combining full time studies at Carleton University and working full time in the summer for the Yukon Government, quite an accomplishment competing against skiers who are training full time.
