Bio: In March 2015, Thomas Scoffin, a second-year business student from Whitehorse, guided the University of Alberta Golden Bears to their second (CIS) Canadian Interuniversity Sport Curling Canada Title in program history. The 20-year-old skip led Alberta to a perfect 9-0-tournament record, including a 7-1 domination of Winnipeg in the semi-final and a 6-4 win over Laurier in the final. A bronze medalist at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics, Scoffin curled 81% through the round robin and improved to 88% in semi-final action and a spectacular 90% in the title game.
As a result of this success, Thomas was named University of Alberta Athlete of he Week and also Canada wide CIS Male Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 21, 2015.
Thomas has also received recognition as a CIS academic all-Canadian based on the combination of athletic performance and academic achievements in the 2014-15 academic year.
