Bio: Mackenzie Downing, a swimmer born in Whitehorse, is a national medalist who represented the University of Victoria Vikes swimming team for five years. During this time, she held seven national titles and internationally won gold, silver, and bronze at the 2007 FISU Games. She held national records in the 100m butterfly (2007) and the 4x100m medley relay (2006, 2007).
In 2010, Mackenzie competed in the Commonwealth Games, where she placed 4th in the 4x100m individual medley.
In 2018, Mackenzie was inducted into the UVic Sports Hall of Fame.
