Krista McKinnon

Bio:  Krista’s athletes qualified for the 2014 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games by competing in the Special Olympics Yukon Territorial Championships in April 2013.  From those 40 athletes, 5 qualified to compete at the National Games. 

She led Team Yukon’s 5 Pin Bowling team to compete at the 2014 Special Olympics Canada National Summer Games in Vancouver, BC.  As a team, they won Silver and some of the team also won individual medals.

Krista oversees 5 sport volunteers and 40 athletes of various ages from 13-late 50s.  She is a very “hands on” type of coach and she leads by example.  She has used different methods for teaching her athletes how to get the best out of their games.
