The Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club will have several exciting job opportunities for the upcoming 2017-2018 Ski Season. We are looking for individuals who have experience in customer service, retail, program co-ordination, and/or ski lessons. Club Assistant Manager

At the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club, you’ll be part of a team committed to providing exceptional customer service. This position will work to assist the Club Manager in the operation and management of all daily operations at the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club. We are looking for a dynamic individual to fill this position, with experience in customer service and retail.

General Duties/Responsibilities:

  • membership and day pass sales
  • equipment rentals
  • ski waxing and minor repair services
  • sales of wide range of merchandise
  • management of ski and change room locker rentals
  • event entries and payment of program registration fees
  • supervise part time Ski Base staff
  • contact with members and visitors to determine needs and perception of services being offered
  • member registration (Zone 4 management)

 

Program Co-ordinators

Are you a strong leader? Do you have a passion for the Cross Country Skiing? Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club is looking for Program Co-ordinators to coordinate and facilitate several of their programs throughout the 2017-2018 Season. These positions require individuals who are highly organized, self-motivated, and have experience in sport or recreation program co-ordination. The ideal candidate will possess enthusiasm, motivation and excellent communication skills to serve as liaison between clients, parents, instructors and management.

This position is devoted to successfully overseeing the many aspects of the ski programs offered at the Whitehorse Cross Country Ski Club. Program Coordinators will be responsible for:

  • the design, implementation and evaluation of all programs
  • development of promotional materials
  • coordinating existing programs (both adult and youth)
  • develop new programs in consultation with ski club management
  • work in conjunction with club manager to set objectives for each individual program
  • work with club management in developing season schedules
  • coordinate facility bookings for programs
  • help in the recruitment and training of volunteers
  • work with club management in promotion and advertising all program
  • complete annual reports and evaluations of existing programs

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – YUKON CURLING ASSOCIATION (YCA)

Executive Director

The Primary function of the Executive Director is to provide administrative assistance to the Yukon Curling Association (YCA) so they may maintain their goals and objectives. The Executive Director (ED) is a professional staff person whose duty it is to aid the Association and its Directors to help carry out the programs and services for the membership.

This is a permanent part-time contract based on 20 hours a week.

YCA is recruiting for an ED to successfully lead and manage all aspects of the YCA operations in accordance with the strategic direction as set by the Board of Directors. In addition to demonstrating high caliber leadership skills, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Yukon sport system and proven experience in a not0for-profit environment.

Duties:

  • Promotion of the Sport of Curling in Yukon
  • Financial accounting & bookkeeping
  • Completing grant applications & reporting annually
  • Member communications & correspondence both territorially and nationally
  • Administration & office management
  • Planning & organizing development programs
  • Planning & organizing territorial championship events
  • Prepare for and attend monthly Board and Annual General Meetings

Qualifications:

  • Must be proficient with Simply Accounting, MS Office and Email applications
  • Good knowledge of the sport of curling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in grant applications and fund development initiatives
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors
  • Ability to trouble shoot
  • Education and/or Experience in Business or Sport Management
