2016 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

The City of Whitehorse values the importance of volunteers and their contributions to our community. It celebrates and publicly acknowledges outstanding volunteers by providing an opportunity for citizens to recognize and appreciate volunteers who have made significant impacts to their organizations.

The City invites your organization to nominate an individual as a candidate for this honour. The nominee should be someone who has made a significant contribution to your organization or to the community as a whole in 2016. To assist us in our selection, we ask that you provide us with a detailed description of your nominee’s contribution.

To Nominate a Volunteer:

Nomination Deadline:  Wednesday, March 30, 2017

Please ensure that your nominee is aware of the nomination.

The individual you nominate will be invited to join us at a Volunteer Reception  with a guest and a representative from your organization on Wednesday, April 26  at 5:30 pm at the Coast High Country Inn. This will be held during National Volunteer Week, to recognize all nominated volunteers who have contributed many hours to community organizations throughout the City in 2016. At the reception one individual will be selected by City Council as the City’s “2016 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR”.
